“Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.”

The desire of God for us is to prosper and be in good health. When we concentrate on foods that endanger health, a lot of harm is done to the body. Excessive intake of sugar and salt is dangerous to health. It is not uncommon to find youths being diagnosed in recent times for adult related diseases like diabetes, and cancer. Most common diseases – obesity, diabetes mellitus, heart disease and tooth decay are directly or indirectly linked to regular intake of sugar. Chewing gum, sweet, candy also cause tooth decay. Too much salt increases the risk of hypertension. Processed and canned foods contain a lot of preservatives and should be eliminated from our diet. Raw food and natural fruits should be preferred to processed and canned ones. Eat well to live healthy.

God truly cares about our physical wellbeing . But He is more concerned about our spiritual relationship with Him (3 John 2). As young people, you can live a balanced Christian life by studying the word of God, praying regularly and attending fellowships. It will also be helpful for you to make Christ known to other people.

Challenge:              Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost.

Prayer:                    Jesus, help me to avoid unhealthy diet.
